Objective
Roll the dice and close every tile. On each turn, choose one or more open tiles whose values add up exactly to your roll. When you cannot make a valid combination, the game ends. Clear the board to Shut the Box.
How a Turn Works
- Roll the dice.
- Select open tiles that add up to the roll.
- Commit the matching combination and roll again.
In Classic mode, you may roll one die once all remaining tiles are 6 or lower.
Game Modes
- BeginnerClassic one-row Shut the Box.
- MediumNine rows. Matching tile columns collapse together for bonus points.
- NinjaThe nine-row cube game with 30 seconds per turn.
The Cube Bonus
In the nine-row modes, playing a tile can also claim matching faces immediately above and below it. The claimed run scores as a bonus, but only the tiles you selected count toward the current dice roll. A badge previews how many tiles a move will claim.
Special Tiles and Events
Medium and Ninja games can include special tiles and occasional between-turn events. A Wild tile can count as whatever value is still needed. A Locked tile can only be played alone and must match the entire roll. Lucky third-die, reshuffle, and wild-tile events can change a turn, but every closed tile always scores its face value.
Controls
